Crappie5 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Just thought I would let everyone know what I seen last night. I drove down and checked out some of the ramps and took my laser gun to check some water temps. 1) Shell Knob bridge, water was cream coffee, temps at 4:30 pm were 50 degrees and you could put in at the ramp. Kind of tight but there was an open lane to put in and the courtesy dock was usable, they have pulled it up. probably 10 or so places to park so if you go better get there early. 2) Viola ramp is still a mess. Trash everywhere, water was same cream coffee color, temps at 5:00 pm were 53. You could possibly put in but the courtesy dock was way out yet. you would probably botttom your boat out on the asphalt ramp trying to pick up your partner. There is no place to park unless you park in one of the camp sites. 3) Hickory Hollow was open. You can put in but it would be tight. The dock is real close to the bank, by the time you get your boat all the way in to unload you are almost against the boat dock. We seen a couple of guys unloading. the water color is starting to break here, you could see the line from mud to green. Temps were the same 53 degrees at 5:30 pm 4) We went across 86 bridge and the water color is the prettiest green you will see. Talked to some guys there that have been catching several cats on limb lines same as mentioned in previous forum posts. Anyway, hope this helps some of you plan your trip if you are heading to King's River.

dtrs5kprs Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Thanks for the report on the west end. Good news on some of the improving color, if we can get the rain to hold off. Have not seen any mention of What's Up Dock / Kimberling commercial area...anyone know if that is open? Looking for something close to Schooner Creek Resort.
Members Fish23 Posted March 29, 2008 Members Posted March 29, 2008 I have a cabin in the Kimberling area and will be there Sat night. I to would like to know what the water looks like before going out sun a.m. from Kimberling. If there is no report by Sun evening i will let you know. Thats if i can get to my dock this weekend.
Members Fish23 Posted March 31, 2008 Members Posted March 31, 2008 Mill Creek, Ahoys and 13 are all open. Water looks like chocolate milk. Fishing was tough. Should have ran to the rivers like the rest of the fishermen SUN.

Looks like the rain is not going to let up. We will be praying for rain come July and August but let it quit for awhile so we can get some quality fishing in. Anyone have any rain reports for yesterday and today? Looks like Shell Knob area is getting pounded, maybe the whole lake.
Members Fish23 Posted April 1, 2008 Members Posted April 1, 2008 Yes when i mentioned 13 i meant Boat Dock 13 in Kimberling. Don`t forget you have to pay there now. I have not been in there in over a year since they make you stop and pay. I`m sure thats why there is not alot of tournaments out of there anymore, But thats another subject.
Members KansasBoy13 Posted April 1, 2008 Members Posted April 1, 2008 Anyone been down and seen what Gage's looks like?
