CaptainT16 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Tried checking out that link Brian, but said I had to connect to the service. Anyway of posting it again and seeing if that works? Where from springfield was the new cave located? Cave was found in 2001, all the info here: http://www.riverbluffcave.com/ SKMO "A True Fisherman with a Rod in His hand, and a Tug on the Line, would not Trade His Position for the Throne of Any King"
CaptainT16 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks for the link SKMO. I had lived in Springfield at that time, but never remembered ever hearing anything about it. Sounds pretty neat! Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 20, 2006 Root Admin Posted February 20, 2006 Interestly, Jim Turner and I talked to a lady in Branson West - her husband and her bought some land near Reed's Spring. They knew about one large bell cave on the property but found the opening to a cave they have not yet explored. The opening is just a hole in the ground less than 24 inches wide- not enough for anyone it get into- but when he dropped a stone in the hole it took over 4 seconds to hit the bottom and it was water. It could be another marvel cave.
crappiefisherman Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Lilley, it didnt have a little house on top of it with a bucket on a rope did it? [ [
Members Fox Statler Posted February 20, 2006 Members Posted February 20, 2006 If the rock fell for 4 seconds the hole is approximately 528 feet deep. Quite a drop. Fishin' What They See, Fox Statler
Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 My bad on the date guys.. I had no idea it was from 2001 - whoops! Lilley - that's too cool! Fox - how does calculate the accelerated drop of any said "rock" ? I know it picks up speed with each second.. I think I read that once. But what is the formula used to calculate ? neat stuff - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
