Members bassin4life Posted April 2, 2008 Members Posted April 2, 2008 I am supposed to fish a tournament this weekend out of State Park, but I am hearing that State Park ramp is closed. I talked with the tournament director and he says that he will try to take the tourney out of old state park. I wanted to know if you can launch on that ramp with the water so high. I have a chance to go to LOZ for another tourney but I have to make my mind up by tommorow night. Can anyone who lives up that way help me out!!! Thanks in advance for your help!!
Dutch Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 If Doug has closed State Park ramp at the Marina then the Old State Park parking lot will be under water. Are you sure that it wasn't Old State Park that is closed? All most all of the ramps are way under water with the water near the parking lots. There is not much room left for many trucks and trailers.
Members Hooked Posted April 2, 2008 Members Posted April 2, 2008 I would go to LOZ instead. Members bigfoot Posted April 2, 2008 Members Posted April 2, 2008 The water at the old state park is too high to back your boat in without getting your truck in the water. If this does not bother you then it can be done. I would think that Roark Bluff would be a better location for your tournament with the water so high.

Ruark Bluff or Hawker are the best ramps that are open. State Park is closed and Old State Park probably will be after tomorrow's storms.
Dutch Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 LOZ is reportedly very muddy since they are dumping Truman.
podum Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 LOZ is blown out (think chocolate milk + pea soup). You can lauch a boat though. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
