Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 20, 2006 Root Admin Share Posted February 20, 2006 From what I've heard, the fishing was good this weekend despite the cold and snow. Some brave souls spent the weekend, one they will surely remember and reminise, battering the cold-cold waters of Taney. These guys were just heading out this morning. These guys staying next door roughed it... of sorts.
tippet7
They didnt really sleep on the dock did they? I am a little crazy...but that is insane. You are so stupid you threw a rock at the ground and missed.

CaptainT16
Wow, that would be pretty interesting if they did sleep in that tent this weekend. I could think of better places to stay in the winter time, even though I have been guilty of sleeping in a tent in the middle of winter! Okay, I had to, it was Boy Scouts! Wayne SW/MO
Well I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm a wimp, but I'm glad I live close and can afford to go another time. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman. Members SGFChief
Actually fishing was pretty good Sunday morning even though it was ridiculously cold. I was only able to fish for a couple hours before having to head back to Springfield and even with the cold, i hated to leave. I lost what would probably have been biggest trout of my life, certainly the biggest on a fly. I'm not really sure what happened other than he simply let go of it. Someone needs to school me on the finer points of the hook set--seriously I probably lose (or miss) more than I catch and have only recently gotten into the "wade into the frigid water and fling lighter than air objects" sort of thing so I'm not exactly a pro at this. (Although I've been having more fun doing this than any other form of fishing yet) Anyone have any pointers or words of wisdom?
Don
Hey chief, No expert here, but since i loosened my drag(not to the point of backlash) I set alot harder. My drag is set lose enought for a hard set then is adjusted appropriately during the fight. Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
