Members walleye4383 Posted April 8, 2008 Members Posted April 8, 2008 Heading to LOZ the first weekend in May to try and find some crappies. What will the fish be relating to that time of year. We are staying across from the Gravois arm of the lake. Any help would be greatly appreciated, have been fishing a few times and never had much luck. Thanks.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 8, 2008 Root Admin Posted April 8, 2008 Docks I'd say. LOZ is a big dock lake.
CMAC Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Docks are a good place to start, especially with shallow brush, difficult to see now with the lake level being high, but that is what makes them good! Honestly I think since the water is so dirty and high, brush is not really a factor right now, but come May should hold them.
Members walleye4383 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Members Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks for the info, any baits that the crappies tend to prefer that time of year?
Members spicy mustard Posted April 10, 2008 Members Posted April 10, 2008 black and chartruse jig reeled in really slow
CMAC Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Jig and cork is a good combination. Try my favorite Marabou with the red head/chart. body and whit tale.
