Members mohogtrapper Posted April 11, 2008 Members Posted April 11, 2008 Long time lurker, first post. I am in the market for a new casting rod. I will primarily be using it for worm/jig presentation. I would like a 7'rod with lots of sensitivity. I will also be putting a curado on it. Any suggestions? I would like to keep it under $200
Members mohogtrapper Posted April 11, 2008 Author Members Posted April 11, 2008 I did some surfing last night and am leaning toward the new Shimano Cumara. Anybody used one of these? My second pick is the Loomis GL3. What do you use?
rps Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Falcon makes excellent rods within your price range. I have fished them for more than ten years. Look at the LowRider and Cara lines.
Members mohogtrapper Posted April 17, 2008 Author Members Posted April 17, 2008 Well, I went to Cabelas and settled on the Cumara MH 6"8 rod. It handles really nice. Hope to fish with it this weekend. It will take some time getting use to the foam grips, I usually use cork. Paired it with a curado
Members DoctaJ Posted April 17, 2008 Members Posted April 17, 2008 Cumara, I thought you wanted under 200? Shimano bought out Loomis so Shimano's rods are starting to show some of the Loomis technology. You should have went to BPS and came seen me. I would have gladly set you up with a rod. Next time look at the Croix legend series. The cumara is very nice.
Members mohogtrapper Posted April 18, 2008 Author Members Posted April 18, 2008 I stayed under my $200. All the reviews about them had nothing but good things to say. Looked at the Croix, but decided to stick with the cumara. BTW, I do not shop at Pro Bass!!
