Members tucker Posted April 11, 2008 Members Posted April 11, 2008 I'm needing a little advice. I guide some on TR but haven't been on the rock for the awesome spinnerbait bite yet. I've got 10 youths fishing in a Jr. Bass Club tourny Sunday and the weather is supposed to cool off drastically. Do you guys think we should stick with the blade or try something else. Most of these kids won't be able to feel a jig bite. One positive is that we allow the kids to measure and count 12" fish or bigger so any bite will most likely count.
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted April 11, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted April 11, 2008 Tucker I would take them up around the Dam area and throw a swimming grub in Milky salt and pepper on a 5/16 to 3/8 dart head. Slow roll is the key.. That is about your best choice if they can't feel a bite on a jig. Good Luck and Have fun.. Capt. Don Capt. zander Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 By the way, it is good that you are doing that for the kids. I remember growing up in Kimberling City how my older brother during the summer would go off to Bass Masters and learn about all of the fish with his own tacklebox and then he would get to go fishing and put on a REAL life jacket. I was soooooo jealous since I wasn't old enough to do it. I tell you that because the kids you see are not the only kids you excite about fishing. Good luck.

Thanks guys for the advise and encouragement but after looking at the forecast for temp and wind I'd say the kids would be miserable so we will cancel...maybe next weekend.
Bill Babler Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Great move, and Super Judgement on your part. There is no way I would have condoned putting children on the lake tomorrow. That is just not what it's about. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
