Daddy Carp Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Geezer or Amish Bill, How are the docks and things holding? Mine still had some room at 15' but now it's hit 18' and still climbing. They cut back the release rate before that last series of rains and held at about 12'. Now the rains are "washing their butts"! The corp has gone back to a 3500 release rate, but I think it's too late for the damage at hand. My neighbor said that 4+ docks had broke loose in Deckers Cove over the weekend. Several others were damaged. I've been fighting the "Taneycomo/Bull Shoals" floods. Taney is receeding now. Yesterday, there was only about 6' difference in lake levels at Powersite dam. A 6' rise on Bull Shoals would have combined the 2 lakes into 1. Have a good one, if the water don't go down, I guess I can launch the boat from my back deck! ......LOL
Amish Bill Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Hello DC I was up there this past weekend and I didn't see any broken docks, just lots of water. I launched from Lightfoots and went all the way around to Haverstick. I fished a crappie tournament. I took second with 2 fish, 1 pound 2 ounces, first was 2 fish 1 pound 12 ounces. Daddy Carp Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 Hello DC I was up there this past weekend and I didn't see any broken docks, just lots of water. I launched from Lightfoots and went all the way around to Haverstick. I fished a crappie tournament. I took second with 2 fish, 1 pound 2 ounces, first was 2 fish 1 pound 12 ounces. DARN Amish, I remember when we used to have that kind of catch before we even got the 2nd pole baited and set! Sounds like fishing is going to be pretty tough for a while. I just hope they don't skrew up the spawn. At least then we can look to the future. Got a good report on my CT scan, they said they see about 50% shrinkage of the cells. Then I got even better news that it was done using a 1/2 dose of meds due to my bronchts. & pneumon. at the start. Had 3 chemos to that point. Dr said they are going to go full strength, so I should tighten my seatbelt. Got my fingers crossed real tight now! Thanks for the prayers of you and all who did, I think we got this thing on the run! I am a firm believer that chemo is only a tool and the final repairs will come from the "Almighty" Himself! Please keep the prayers commin. Have a good one & God Bless............D.C.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Did the water get into Outlet Park? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Amish Bill Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 DC That sure is good news, I agree the doctors and meds are a lot better but they're only tools for the Lord, yes we'll keep praying for you and later this summer maybe we'll meet at Pomme or Taney and wet a line....God bless AB "Life's too short to fish with a dead minner..."
Daddy Carp Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Looks like the lake is about +9' and falling 1/2' per day. Maybe I can get to my dock now! I am going to try and get up there for a couple days next week. Got to be @ the Drs. in Sprngfld. Thur. so I may just go from there. Not much farther than from Rockaway. Looks like the surface is 55 deg. Has there been much spawning activity yet & are the Whites running shads yet? Hope to see ya all on the water soon...............D.C.
Daddy Carp Posted May 4, 2008 Author Posted May 4, 2008 Hey Amish & Geezer, you guys have been doing a terrific job of bailing on the lake!! looks like it's only about 6-8' high. Keep the buckets going, I'm headed that way. Will be there till Thurs. morn. Gonna try to catch something off the points up by Deckers. If your out, just look for the old Maroon/wht. Maxum rigged like a Basser. Good job but go ahead & take her down another couple of feet.................LOL.
Daddy Carp Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Well, I finally put a boat in and was able to use my dock. It made it through the weather/water in good shape. Caught a lot of small bass along the shallow banks at the outer edge of the weeds & brush. Everything was from 8" to 16". Must have caught 20 or so in about 2 hrs. I was using a shad color lipless matzou "rumble shad". At least it looks like the last year or 2 had a good spawn. This could make for some nice fishing in a couple of years.
oneshot Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I was over there today, still way up.Didn't seem to be biting below the Dam. oneshot
