I'm a longtime visitor to this site, first time writer. My passions are my god, wife, family, dogs and smallmouth fishing. I fish mostly the middle Gasconade. I also enjoy fishing the spring white bass runs on upper Bull Shoals and Lake of the Ozarks. Any questions on fishing for smallmouth on the

Hey there, and welcome to the forum.

I used to play around the Gasconade River when I worked at a camp in Freeburg.

Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp. Ever heard of it? I didn't have a boat but

the property line goes right up to the river and so I would through a

small crawdad rapalla and did quite well in some fast rapids. You must have a boat to fish gasconade pretty good right?

Yes I use a boat to fish for smallmouth. I use a paddle jon-it goes places that jet boats can't reach if you know what I mean-plus its a more stable platform than a canoe

Good to hear from a neighbor. Used to go down to Morlands' Retreat/ access, Bell's Chute. Looks like the water is really down. Maybe I need to get the boat out. Take care.
