riverrat Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I'm a longtime visitor to this site, first time writer. My passions are my god, wife, family, dogs and smallmouth fishing. I fish mostly the middle Gasconade. I also enjoy fishing the spring white bass runs on upper Bull Shoals and Lake of the Ozarks. Any questions on fishing for smallmouth on the Gasconade-I'll gladly share what little knowledge I have.

Members diamond dave Posted February 22, 2006 Members Posted February 22, 2006 Hey there, and welcome to the forum. I used to play around the Gasconade River when I worked at a camp in Freeburg. Turkey Hill Ranch Bible Camp. Ever heard of it? I didn't have a boat but the property line goes right up to the river and so I would through a small crawdad rapalla and did quite well in some fast rapids. You must have a boat to fish gasconade pretty good right?
riverrat Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 Yes I use a boat to fish for smallmouth. I use a paddle jon-it goes places that jet boats can't reach if you know what I mean-plus its a more stable platform than a canoe
Members flyingeagle Posted February 25, 2006 Members Posted February 25, 2006 Hey RiverRat Good to hear from a neighbor. Used to go down to Morlands' Retreat/ access, Bell's Chute. Looks like the water is really down. Maybe I need to get the boat out. Take care. FS
