Members B MOELLER Posted April 16, 2008 Members Posted April 16, 2008 Just wanting to know if anyone has seen any spawning activity yet? Maybe this late cold weather has it running late? It seems that it usually coincided with turkey season.
Jason Essary Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Ive seen a lot of them staging in the timber on shallow points near indian point. almost hooked one on a spinnerbait tonight. hit him, felt a thump and set the hook, just didnt connect on him. knew what it was as soon as he took off running through the water afterwards. probably a good thing as he would have broke off my sb in all that timber, he looked like 16 18 lbs. Seth Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 They are really stacked up below Springfield Dam on the James River on Tablerock. I didn't know when they spawn, but they moved in there all of the sudden and you can't hardly make a cast without snagging one now.
Kayser Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 They are stacked up in the overflows behind some local lakes. At least, they were earlier this week. Didn't see any today with the rain/clouds. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
