Bill Babler Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Boy's if you are considering buyng a new bass catcher, let me caution you on a couple of things. If considering a purchase on the merrits of recieving additional tourmants moneys for driving a perticular product, think very hard on this and research how long the sponsorship with that boat company has been with the circut you want to fish. Also consider and research how long their contract is with the boat company and if the model you wish to purchase will continue to pay for winning rusults. Most of these tournaments have had lots of affiations, with various companies and tend to usually switch either companys or models every 3 or 4 years. By the boat your heart wants, not the one that someone else wants you to have, it will only lead to disapointment. Almost all the boat companies will have paybacks for 1st. Bill Babler Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 Dano, One of my good friends and a great client is a Dr. in the KC area, he just purchased a Skeeter 22i with a 250 Yamy, HPDI. It is touted as the Worlds best Bass Boat. Skeeter has been in business forever, so I am thinking its the cream of the crop. It has all the bells and whistles, including every option even for the trailer. It sports a Hummingbird 1197c SI Combo NVB. in the dash and a Lowrance LCX-113C on the bow. Don't know how you can spend much more on a rig. List price with all the goodies, was a cheeseburger under $64,000 He paid pertty close to that, as it was about as custom a rig as you could get. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

soggyfeet Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 OK guys tell me this is it the baot that catches the fish or the fisherman. Personally I dont have a boat and have always wanted a new Ranger, or Titan but just dont care for the price tag. Honestly I have caught more fish from a deep V alumminum boat with a 25 hp tiller than in a souped up fiberglass job. I know tournament guys want out of the hole and guides need the new fancy stuff for their clients but for me when I finally get to buy one I think I will wait till that DR sells and get a very nice boat at a more reasonable price. I guess each person is different and can spend their money on what they want. Right now I have about 200 bucks in my pocket I dont think I could get an inflatable for that Brian
zander Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Everybody is different. RPS had a good entry in his blog on here about choosing a boat. I wish I could afford to have my own but even if I could I'm pretty sure I am not the salesman needed to convince my wife it would be a good idea. Kid's college fund, new furniture, the list goes on and on.

Bill Babler Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Mitch, all the electronics, were put on aftermarket, cause he wanted what he wanted. Total Price of the electroncs: Mounted balanced, sales tax and tire rotation, came to about $6,200.00, just for that. That really jumped the price of the boat to create a monster total package. He will probably use it about a dozen times a year. One thing about this boy, he can really fish. He was 3rd to Rick a couple of years ago in I believe the State Federation fish off here on the Rock and got to go to Florida and fish to qualify for the Bass Masters Classic. He just missed the cut by a couple of pounds. This is one of the great guys in our area, and he donates both time and money to very charitable causes. He is also affiliated with the K Kamps. Great Guy, and I am glad he has the resources to have such a nice toy. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
