I heard an awful rumor the other day that tunnel dam had a crack in it. I also heard that if the rain continues much longer that the spillway would give way. I was just wondering if anyone of you had been there recently and could relinquish my fears as this is my favorite spot.

this is bad news to myself also....I havent been down there in a couple years but before that went down with all the guys in my fam...we would rent out all those cabins on the lake ...i dunno if they are still there but....would not be happy to see the dam go..

I dident go this weekend to see if it was cracked followed my gut feeling and went elseware and dident do so well. So I figured dont follow your gut after a long nite of drinking beer and eating them wild mushrooms that are starting to pop they will lead you in the wrong directin !!!!!!!!!!

Well, for the fishing, I would imagine this would help a little for runs of fish further up the Niangua, but for those who like Lake niangua, bummer...

went to Camdenton today and did like oneshot did at truman and left my fishing gear at home. went to the Wal Mart got new stuff and headed to tunnel dam. dident see any leaks every thing looked normal except a little high water. fishing was ok brought home 2 11in crappie and 7 big goggeleye 2 big bluegill. had an estamated 5 to 6 lb largemouth break my line and a nice walleye break off to. Cought a lot of fair to good smallmouth & large mouth. All in the river below the dam. If anyone boefishes seen alot of gar & carp looking down from the top of dam. I may go back tomarrow with the boat see if the catfish have moved in yet. Bet I wont forget my gear tomarrow if I get the chance to go!!
