Fishrman Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 I'd like to help you, but I have a couple of questions for you so that I can help. 1) Are you using a LGC-2000 GPS receiver/antenna ? 2) What software "version # " do you have on your 26C ? You can find what software version your unit has by turning on your unit, .......press "menu twice", scroll down and press "system set up" ......scroll down and press "software information". You will see a "version #" for your unit. Please post this version #. I can tell you that there has been an updated version for the LGC-2000 reciever/antenna, with an updated version for the 26c unit itself. Ther software version is 1.4.0. And the there is no software displayed when I go to menu twice then NMEA 2000, Bus Setup. From there is just says NMEA 2000, no software. What do I do?
Members troller Posted April 24, 2008 Members Posted April 24, 2008 Go to www.lowrance.com Search the website under self help. Im not familiar with the 26c but I had a similiar problem with my 334. Position acquired and then lost can be solved sometimes by resetting your unit. The hard reset will lose all information...Don't Do the soft reset and that may cure your problem. Enter "reset your Gps number" in the question box and it will walk you through it. Good luck.
Fishrman Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 Well, just got done with an update to the unit and the antenna. Pulled it out of the shop and it acqired my position in the driveway in Cassville. Hopefully within the next few evenings I can go and see how well it works on the water. Have a two day baseball tournament with the youngest boy in Lamar, so won't be until next week until I can go. Catch a bunch of them when and while you can. Good luck and thanks for all the information you guys gave me.

S&M Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Now here is what you do step by step. 1) download the 1.9.0 LGC-2000 GPS receiver/antenna to a 1GB SD card. You must stall on your 26C first before installing the upgraded 2.1.0 version for your unit. 2) once you have downloaded the information on an SD card, all you have to do is open the SD door on you unit and install the chip. Close the door and turn on the unit. The unit will automatically download the information. 3) remove the SD card and delete the 1.9.0 version form the card. 4) download the 2.1.0 version onto the SD card, then install that SD card into your unit once again and follow the same step. Install card in unit, close door, turn on unit and it will automatically down load. remoce SD card from unit and yiour ready to go. If this is to confusing for you, I can help you by down loading the information for you, and meet you at table rock lake to install the upgrades to your unit. There is a catch though, I only have one SD card, so I would have to make two trips to the lake to get all the information installed in your unit. The ball is in your court. let me know what you would like to do. Mike, How do I deal with those who ignore the 50 yard encroachment rule?......I show them just how accurate I am with a crank bait!
