Members tripe Posted April 24, 2008 Members Posted April 24, 2008 A long planned crappie trip is nearing. Waters high and mostly stained. Might end up fishing mostly for whites and bass. We picked Beaver because we like fishing deep clear lakes. oooops! We're staying near Rogers and plan on putting in at Prairie Creek Well,, the best laied plans of mice and men,,,,, Pea Ridge, Rogers, Eureka Springs Plenty to see and do if the fishings poor. Any suggestions, hopeful words etc sent our way would be great
wily Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I haven't been there in a couple weeks, but the last time i was down...the water in the dam area was still very clear. you should also add striper fishing to your list...the top water bite should be good. fish at night along the pea gravel around the island closest to prairie creek. not sure if you'll even be able to see the island though with all this water. if not try any gravel flat close to the main lake. the coves on the north side of prairie creek should be good for crappie.
Hogfan Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Fished last weekend a little and from Rambow Creek back to Hickory Creek was pretty dirty. Once you get up around Big and Little Clifty it starts to clear up a little. The Dam area and Indian Creek are really clear right now. Of course we got 3 or 4 inches of rain last night in some areas so that will dirty things up a little more than they already are.
Members smilin dan Posted April 26, 2008 Members Posted April 26, 2008 I am headed down there April 30th to May 4th, staying at Hickory Creek. We will moslty be chasing stripers, but plan to do some crappie fishing too. If you would like send me an email and i will give you my phone number and i can give you a report. bleedingthumbsbaits@hotmail.com Only my second time to the lake, but sure enjoyed it last time. Anyone have any tips on the striper locations right now? I am guessing they will be way up the rivers. Thanks for any pointers.
