bclift65706 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 I always carry a wildlife code book in my tackel box let them argue with that. I will read it again to make sure.
bclift65706 Posted May 14, 2008 Author Posted May 14, 2008 the Big Piney and the Osage Fork are the onley tributarys to the gascoade that have leingth limits onley to their confluence with the gasconade not the gasconade river. chapter 6 of the wildlife code get a regulation book and carry with you and let them argue with it while you catch fish. I had a guy going to turn me in one time over goggleye 5 miles above skline drive bridge I told him to go ahead maby I would have my limit when they get here. Then I asked him what the leingth limit was on smallmouth because I really like to eat them.(I dont really just told him that) the conservation department never showed to investigat. I think most people just tell you that to see if you will turn you fish lose.Or mabey just cant read or dont bother to read.

I don't understand why people want to spout off at the mouth about the laws if they don't know them... But I guess it's nice that residents of the state are concerned. Every time I float the Niangua during the busy season I feel like it's me and the conservation agents against the world!! I float along all day long picking up empty floating beer cans and various debris, helping drunks get their boats back afloat (though it's a blast watching them try), and asking people politely to pick up their trash and put out their fires when they leave. Only once or twice have I ever had to get obnoxious, and even then it was only because of gross negligence... (A guy was breaking beer bottles on the rocks as he floated by, I paddled like crazy to catch him and set him straight) But even I don't bother the fisherman! cricket.c21.com
Members mofisher Posted May 17, 2008 Members Posted May 17, 2008 It sure is to bad there aren't more people picking up the trash. I have had quite a time trying to explain to my 3 little girls why people litter. They just can't understand why people would litter. Awh the inocense of children. Thanks for helping with the trash!

It's the least I can do, after all I want to see my kids kids fishing for brownies on the river too.... I will be posting some threads about the fall clean up if the local outfitters decide to do it.. Because of work conflicts I can't always attend (I run an entire department) but I always do my best to increase awareness... cricket.c21.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 17, 2008 Posted May 17, 2008 It is a shame. I think the worst place that is consistently trashed is under the AC bridge at Davis Ford. I haven't been up there in awhile though, so maybe the trashers have moved on. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Last year we must've filled up the john boat 4 times over the year.... cricket.c21.com
