Everybody knows that you can't screw up fried crappie. Even a bad recipe tastes pretty darn good. That said, I found a recipe on another site that I tried today and thought I would share. Place about a half of a box of "cheese nips" in a sealable baggie and close. Crush with a rolling pin (crush them to smithareens till they are a powder). I simply soaked the fillets in a egg/milk bath and dredged in the cheese nips and fried until golden brown. Quite tasty and a nice change of pace from corn meal.

That does sound good. I'm not a corn meal fan anyway, so I might give it a try.

Yankee.... :lol:

I've not heard of the cheese nip meal... But sounds like a good change.

OK... next try the same thing only with corn flakes. Then instant potatoes. Then potato chips.

Cornbread = good. I could almost live on it.

Cornmeal = ehh.

So am I a hybrid yankee?

I'm not a big cornmeal fan myself.

The Cheese Nips sound really good.

I like to use Club Crackers. The buttery taste really compliments the fish.

My Great Grandpa ate fried food every day of his life and he lived to 96 yrs.

His favorite breakfast was dough balls rolled in cinnamon and sugar and fried in lard...ate them every day.

I don't believe I could live without my fried fish!!!

Ritz Crackers are my favorite for fried fish...they are great.
