flyfishmaster Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Like a lot of you who post of BSSP I too live a long distance from the stream and I am very hesitant on setting a date to go. I just don't want to be disappointed if I have to cancel. Worst of all I need my BSSP "fix" otherwise I'm going to go crazy. I wish this weather pattern slows down soon. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
Paola Cat Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 FFM .... Yep it's about a 3 hour drive for some of us. I guess you're probably in that range too? Oh well ... there's nothing we can do about the rain situation but complain and be thankful that we're not as bad off as some folks. It's got to be tough on the local businesses. PC Cheers. PC
hfdhoosier Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Yeah I got a 3.5 hour drive coming from Illinois. The lucky thing is it is about the same distance time wise for me to go to Bennett or Montauk. Montauk looks like it only raised a couple inches, still lower than when I was there a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, Montauk would be about 2 hours longer for you coming from Kansas side. Paola Cat Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 I try to make it to Montauk at least once a year ... In fact, it's probably my overall favorite trout park but ..... It takes me at least 4.5 hours to get there from the Kansas City area. It's just too far for me to make a regular trip out of it so ..... BSSP is my "home park". I do a bunch of "day trips" to BSSP. I also try to make a couple of trips to RRSP each year. It takes a little longer to get there than BSSP for me .... but I sure do like that C&R area down there. Last year, I made 23 trips to the trout parks. It's been tough to get that going this year. Let's hope that this rain pattern ends soon .... It's pretty frustrating. PC Cheers. PC

McManus Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 My schedule's pretty rigid. I have a scheduled trip to Bennett for the 13th through the 16th. I'll let you know how I did fishing a flood. "Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau
