Trav Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Did some spooning for Brownies today. No luck with the Browns but I caught 19 bows in my quest. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
bigredbirdfan Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Did you fish any over the weekend? What can you tell me about structure and other fishing hiding places from Rockaway on down to powersite? Thanks, Chad
Trav Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 I dont fish weekends. As far as cover/structure.......I used to be able to find every stick in the mud, but since they opened the flood gates, alot of it has shifted or dissapeared altogether. On the lighter side, new ones have popped up. Certain flats and points have had some changes as well. Some have gotten bigger while others have all but dissapeared. Most the changes are quite suttle and unless you have fished the area for a number of years you probably wont notice much more. I havent really done a thorough investigation, just a quick overview. I will get a better feel for it all later this summer when I am confident the Brownies have settled in. Thats when I will be hitting the deep 20 to 40 foot holes. I am sure I will have to work for my fish for at least a year until I have my dozen or so spots again. With me, its all routine and systematic. I rotate my holes some but I play the averages game. If I know fish hole up in a certain spot, I just fish it over and over. Sooner or later my luck always breaks and it pays off. Its not the funnest way to fish, but I do catch quite a few Brownies over 20 inches that way. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
