flyfshn Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Guys, going to purchase some polarized RX sunglasses since my vision insurance allows 2 pair and was wondering what color lens to get for fishing. Is it personal preference or is copper better than gray....... Fish On! Mike Utt “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. jdmidwest Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Copper or Amber if you fish streams or hunt. Brings out contrast better and brightens things up. Gray works but it darkens. Last time I went for new ones, they had a 2 for deal. I had to go with the glass lenses and paid a little more for them. My normal pair is photograys. Otherwise, if you have a script, you can order them from Orvis or someone who sell sunglasses. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. brittsnbirds Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Mike- Who you getting them from? Your local guy or someone else? Pat
flyfshn Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 Pat, Haven't decided yet. Was looking at my eye doctor, internet, etc. Any suggestions? Fish On! Snow Fly Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Mike: Try Smith Optics, just bought a pair from them. All you need is a new prescription from a eye doctor and you pick the style/lens color you want and mail or fax the info to them. Check for a dealer in your area and you can see and try on the different styles available. The fly shop I hang out at is a dealer so it was a simple process for me. Mine are also RX...Had mine delivered in 10 days.......Love them.. "God gave fishermen expectancy, so they would never tire of throwing out a line"
