I'm not sure what you're looking for? Its not real deep, but it does hold warmer water, at least when Bear and Bull creeks are flowing well. There are some lilly pads in it for cover.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

It averages 7 to 9 feet deep until you get to the area near the island where you can find water 16 to 20 feet. Dont let the shallow water fool you. I catch 90 percent of my fish in Bull in less than 5 feet of water. That is year round.

It may be one of the warmest areas of Lower Taney but it rarely differs more than 6 to 8 degrees from the main lake.

And I may catch alot of fish "near those lilly pads, but other than the occassion sport bass or crappie, there really isnt that many fish in them. The White bass do like to cruise the edges for there usually is an abundance of bait fish in them. I use them as attractors but not as cover.

When the coontails clog up the mouth, you will find alot of trout on the inside of those pesky weeds, Especially if the water isnt generating.

The best areas in the creek are definately the flats. There is one on your left as you enter and there is another that comes out to a point right in the middle. you can recognize both from the timber sticking out of the water.

The third flat, behind the island, holds fish on the edge but I wouldnt waste alot of time on it.

Further up Bull Creek there are Crappie, Goggle-eyes, and Smallmouth. It's tiny, but a scenic little creek with a few bigger fish from time to time. In winter, some trout trickle up into it further than you would think, but that's a story for another day.

That little creek that RS mentioned is Taneys little secret.

It may be inhabited by a bunch of CampKids alot in the summer but it is my bait shop. I get most of my bait from that area.

I catch alot of crappie and smallies there. As well as tons of crawdads and minnows.

I usually beach my boat and walk up stream (even as far as F highway) and catch fish. Have even caught trout past the F highway bridge.

Like I said....It is a secret...Dont tell anyone. Wink

Safe with me. I will just blindfold those in my boat until we reach our final destination. To be real sure not to reveal it I will just leave my wife at home. Thanks for the excuse.
