Micheal Kyle Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Hello, I have been absent from the whole night game for a while since the flooding and the big move for our shop, but I have been the last couple of nights and it is fishing awesome. It is great that the corp is shutting the water down but I wish they would just drain the lake a little more, than 12 hours a day. We started back down on Saturday night and started at the point and worked our way down to the big hole the same thing on Sunday. The fishing is hot just about every cast you will get hit, I have been starting at the droping of the water and fishing until about 3:30am. Tim and I did cacth a few Long Ear Sun Fish and some Crappie, and a lot of Trout. Looks like MDC may have just stocked some fish a lot of silver bullets. We did catch quite a few fish that were around 16-17inches. If you are not on the bottom it seems like you are not catching fish. I have been using a leech and a woolly stripping it very slow and POW all most take the rod out of your hand. Fat and sassy very Healthy looking fish. We have been having our best luck with black and peacock size 10 and 12, I would say the reason for the luck on the color is how dingy the water is at night, usually with a full moon or a bright night white will work. I only caught a few on white. We are having 50+ fish every night Get out and fish while you can when the Lower white Mississippi get where they can hold some water they are going to cut it lose.
