jdmidwest Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Just read the article on Yahoo about monkeys learning the advanced art of fishing. Seems like they have not progressed to Catch and Release. Trav Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 They better stay out of Arkansas. They will find themselves getting shocked and relocated! "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson

Thom Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I was surprised that they just discovered that monkeys can fish. I have seen them fishing in the tail waters at Taney for several years now. The only part that confused me is the part about intellegence. Most of the monkeys that I have seen at taney actually can't read the signs posted about types of bait and courtesy. They also don't know how to measure things either cause I have seen some of them rushing to their trucks with stringers of slot fish looking over their shoulders as the drive off. The easiest way to spot them especially at outlets 1 & 2 is they usually are shuffleing their feet constantly and crowding against anyone that is catching fish. I GUESS THAT WHAT MONKEYS DO THOUGH. HEY.... HEY... HEY!!!! Wait a minute Thom.... I resemble that remark... Actually, they may be referring to something on Orangutan Island on the Discovery Channel or Animal Planet or wherever it came on. They were relocating 'tans to an island and trying to get them to fend for themselves and they found a pool with some catfish in it and proceeded to rake them out with a stick and eat them... Kinda the way I use to fish in Arkansas...
