ollie Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I thought this should be posted in it's own place because it is just too cool. Every year now for quite some time the Hatchery here in Neosho has put on a fishing derby for the youth and for the disabled and elderly of this area. I know the derby for the kids has been going on for many a years, but I am not sure how long the derby has gone on for the disabled and elderly. This week it is for the later, but last week it was for the youth. The Hatchery does a fine job of hosting this and they need some kudos out there for what they do. I am sure the MAKO fly guys have been out there this year and if they haven't them shame on them! lol If I remember correctly the MDC helps out also. I know this doesn't directly pertain to Hickory, but it's only a couple of blocks away at the very least. I know I have always enjoyed the couple of times I have helped or at least watched someone I know having a good time fishing. undefined "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
