Tuesday i was out fishing, and my graph every time I would hit my trolling motor foot switch I noticed, my graph would start getting a lot of black lines and interference on my screen, I Know it's picking up the motor off of my trolling motor. Don't know what to do or what could be the problem? It's a Lowrance X135. Please any help would be appreciated.

I know there will be some guys that know a lot more bout this than me but ill ask the oncoming ?s.

Is your graph power hooked in to your trolling motor power?

Where is your Transducer?

No my graph power is hooked to my cranking battery. And my Transducer is mounted on the bottom of my trolling motor.

Your graph is picking up the electical disturbance your trolling motor gives.

I for one will never mount a graph on my trolling motor, only because the vibration can be disruptive.

Relocate the transducer and you will see better results.

Snake'em,

A couple of things to try:

Add a rubber or foam insulator on the trolling motor covering the area between the transducer and motor. I use a rubber plumbing adjustable pipe joint on mine.

Add a ground wire from the "pipe clamp" band holding the transducer to the ground on the trolling motor power line.

Either of these should take care of the situation.

Focused, thanks for the reply. I'm kind of lost on the wire and ground situation, but I'm going to try the trick that mosouthpaw talked about at radio shack. Whats so weird my graph has been working fine for two years.thanks alot. Will get out and try this when the floods STOP?

Snakem, just a quick note. I'm a little out of the loop on this one. But, has it been ok until just reciently?

Becks did the same think, and it was water in the armature of his trolling motor, causing it to send all the adverse electric into the system.

Have George check it out at Marine Repair Center in Springfield. It will be fixed and fixed right, no bandades, he is the best. My units have no rubber backing and they are perfect and state of the art, after his work.

Good Luck
