Members wildhunter066 Posted June 23, 2008 Members Posted June 23, 2008 I went down to hickory creek today. I caught several fish. One i caught was a little bow of about six inches. It had brilliant colr to it and the fins on the bottom side was a beautiful red with white tips. I was going to get a pic of it but it slipped out of my hands while i was trying. Has anyone else caught some in there like this? I figure it must have just got mixed up with the larger ones at the hatchery but it had fins that looked like the ones at crane.
Hopper Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I fished two weeks ago and caught two the same size have a pic of one. The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing.
ollie Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I find that hard to believe there would be any "wild" trout in Hickory. I would tend to think those were fresh stocked fingerlings that excaped the hatchery during high water flooding. How knows though, I could be wrong too. I also hooked a very nice fish around 20 in or a little better. there are some really nice fish in there i just wonder with all the rain and cool springs we have had the last 2 years if some might have spawned succesfully
Hopper Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I dont think high water affects the hatchery, its been a couple of years since i've been there but i think the water is diverted into the hatchery so high water cant wash out any fish??????
