Bill Babler Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Guided the White River section both yesterday and today. Man is it getting tough. Most of the fish we caught were suspended 24 over 70. Real nice fish, but they won't touch that fake worm. They want meat. Pretty good topwater bite if the clouds will stay overhead. It is kind of a catch-22 however as you need the sun to force those dropshot fish into position, or you just find singles and fish at every depth from 10 to 65. Really hard. Also the bottom bite is way off for me. I'm hearing the dam has a decent bite at 35, but don't quote me as its second hand. Average day has been 20 to 30 for 6 hrs. with 5 to 10 keepers. Sounds better than it is. Lots of down time and then 20 minutes of furious action, then an hour with nothing. Found some whites today, but they were running so hard we only got 3, but they were pigs. I think I have a couple of pretty good hands tomorrow, so will let you know. Look Deep. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Fishing Buddy Don House Posted June 24, 2008 Fishing Buddy Posted June 24, 2008 Bill, been hanging around the DAM to Big Cedar and Dam to K/C most of this last week all of this week, expect for a few trout trips mixed in.. Fish are out in deeper water, still see the B/C Guide hanging on the points and Bridge pillars. But I have found another pretty good bite out deep in 30 plus feet of water suspended over 100 plus feet, would go into more detail but then every spot would be jammed with boats, so I will keep quite, sorry guys... Just move around they are there but just in different areas of the same structure. Some days they want plastic and only plastic.. Then some days they are after the meat, which is fine with me, keeps the clients happy and on fish! Saturday and Sunday even after seeing a few guides hanging out on them, went out farther to deeper water and there they were on these same spots, even Phil Stone and his son was at one spot when my clients really got into some very nice spots had one over 4 lost at the boat, just alot of fun with alot of keepers.. I will enjoy while I can I know it will change but for the better for me.. Like Bill said go deep!!! Good Fishing Everyone Capt. D Capt.
