Trav Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 Thanks Chief. The pic is a duskystripe. The scupins and brook silverside are in the tank. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
drew03cmc Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 If your camera has a macro zoom feature, you can get better details, just play with it. I figured this out by accident! Andy
Trav Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 Thanks Drew, but to be honost, these fish are no bigger than 1/3 of a toothpick. When they grow up some I will get better pics for you guys. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 That will help a lot. I got to thinking after I hit the reply button, this is most likely a hatch and at this point there is really no telling what they might be without a clear pic. And being that small, camera phones won't cut it. Does Taney have much of a shad population or is the water too cold? Trav Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 I have seen 3 pound gizzard shad pretty regular this year. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Really! You may want to get to catching some of those. That is only about a 1 pound shy of the world record. You could definitely get yourself a state record. Trav Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 I havent been able to catch any to confirm that they are gizzard shad, but they are definately in the shad family and in the 2 to 3 pound range. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
