Members puffydisc Posted July 4, 2008 Members Posted July 4, 2008 i hear at Maramec that homemade bait works better than the bait they sell at the shop. Any Recipes?
rps Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I get it. You bite your tongue to make a blood bait, right?

Members trouthunter777 Posted July 5, 2008 Members Posted July 5, 2008 i dont understand the whole dough bait haters club just because you guys are die hard fly fishermen. you should respect others. also dont post anything if it isnt helping or answering the topic. had to get my words in. but heres a simple dough bait= bread cream cheese garlic salt add little water till you get it the right texture. i dont spin fish much but have had success on this dough bait . also would like to hear some other recipies people have come up with. also have checked the fly recipie in the forum and nothing to be shown about home made dough baits.

If this comment was aimed at me, you need to look simply 3 topics down the board at this topic http://ozarkanglers.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12363 Search some of my posts, and you will see. Many times a question posted has already been answered if you use SEARCH. Or look at the topics like jdmidwest mentioned. I have learned to use the search function from the admin of this great site. I am not a fly fishing dough bait hating snob...sorry, The biting tongue comment was reffering to a little light hearted humor between flyfishmaster and myself. Again search our posts. I subscribe to the git er done school of fishing, and respect all methods as long as they respect the law. regards, The only good line is a tight line
Terry Beeson Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Bman, In your defense... I got your "biting tongue" joke right off the bat. And found it quite amusing. And I'm a charter member of the "DBHC"... Actually, while I don't subscribe to certain techniques and will try to sway you from "the dark side" of fishing, if it's legal, I ain't got a problem with it. Wheaties and strawberry pop.... Now excuse me while I go tie up a few powerbait infused flies... I sent puffydisk a message with instructions on how to make...dare I say it the most feared, the most dreaded, the best there is...BOSSCO BAIT Sorry FFM they made me do it. The only good line is a tight line
jdmidwest Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I spin fish also. Cleos, rooster tails, jigs, and crank baits. I have used power bait to catch for a meal. I never use bait for catch and release, it will kill the fish as they swallow it 90 percent of the time. Plus, it makes my fingers stink!
