jdmidwest Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I have used the Palomar knot for years, its an easy tie and retains almost 100 percent line strength. Palomar knot link The clinch knot is what I use most for flies, fast and easy to tie, make sure you lube it with spit or water. Trav Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I prefer palomar knots myself. Can get difficult with tiny baits. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
rps Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 If you are going to use braid, use the same Palomar knot but pass the loop through the overhand knot twice before you put the hook or bait through the loop. Unbelieveable holding power even on slick braid.

steveearle Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Tie a clinch, not the palomar, for fluorocarbon...You will gain an average of 10% breaking strength vs. the Palomar
