My brother and I were fortunate enought to get a guide trip through Bass Pro as a gift from a Springfield Cardinal game. We were very lucky in whom we got to fish with. None other than Charlie Campbell. What a great guy, he was quite the fisherman and a great guy to spend the day with. I will remember this trip forever. Very personable and polite, I could not have asked for anything better. Well let's get to the report. We fished out of Cape Fair, fished below there all day. Ran to point 14 and that was the furthest we made it. Caught 29 total with 9 or 10 keepers. Caught them on split shot and Eakins jig, most fish were fairly shallow. We sat our boat in 20-25 feet all day. It was a great day as far as I was concerned. Caught them better than I had been at Shell Knob. Well that is it for now, had some trips last week arougn SK and Kings River, but nothing as good as yesterday. Just got my computer back today, so have not been able to post. Good luck.

An associate of mine was lucky enough to be able to fish with Charlie up at Truman a week or two ago. He said it was the most fun he ever had fishing. On each location he explained what it looked like and what he was looking for. Another guy "Tony French" told me Charlie even packs a lunch for his amateur on tournaments. Charlie fishes the buddy side of Heartland Pro Am with his wife. I often go to weigh in just to see him. One of these days I will get the nerve to visit with him.

Class act.
