Members kayaker Posted July 11, 2008 Members Posted July 11, 2008 I want to take my boys camping and fishing on the Elk next week but I looked at the water gauge near Tiff City and it looks like the river spiked up recently. I have no idea where Tiff City is but we will be near Noel, MO. We plan on going next Wednesday and Thursday to do some floating, fishing and swimming. How is the river right now and would it be decent next week if it does not rain again? Thanks
GloryDaze Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 You could send a PM to "Wacky Worm" and ask Russ- He has a livery on the Elk..... What I can tell you is earlier in the year I floated whent the gauge at Powell read 4.4 ft. Now you would obviously be downstream from that and looking at the current gauge reading, if it doesn't rain you should probably have perfect water! Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
ollie Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 It appears to be Roll'in! I won't fish the lower Elk where that gauge is located until it goes down to at least 500 cfs. I think you will find the water to be somewhat high this weekend. We got some good amount of rain down here yesterday and the day before. Remember Glory, Elk has the Big and Little dumping into it so the water downstream will have a heavier flow to it.
