Members c & r Posted July 14, 2008 Members Posted July 14, 2008 Russ, I'm new to the site........You seem to be up on the Elk and Indian. Help please. I usually float from Gracies to the railroad tressel and Indian Creek.... during the week !!!!!!!!!! However, with the log jam above Lanagan Park and the fast water on the elk, where are you fishing? I like to fish from about 3:00 p.m. till dark. Sounds like you must be up on the Indian above Anderson. I was wanting to fish either Tues or Wed....Where would you go? And it sounds like you shuttle sometimes?????? That sounds great, because I fish by myself often and could would be glad to pay for a shuttle if you do that sometimes. Also, what do you think about from Powell down river now???? How is the water level? Glad to run into you......Thanks for whatever you can pass on to me. Bobby

GloryDaze Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Hey Russ- I'm thinking about starting at Cyclone, paddling back to your place and campning there. Then Friday morning floating about 8-10 miles down the Elk and then heading back- Is it cool if I stay at your place?? Is there room Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
Members Slabhunter Posted July 22, 2008 Members Posted July 22, 2008 My wife and a couple of friends will be down that way this weekend to float the elk. I haven't floated it in 12yrs or so. I was wondering what everyone is catching the fish on? When i was there i just use a live crawdads and a little rebel wee-craw crankbait. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
ollie Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I fished this past weekend and did very well on the top water right before dark. I was tear'in em up on the puppy spook until I embedded a treble into my thumb! It sucks when you have to do first aid on yourself. The water is still up just a little bit, but in good shape from what I could tell. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
