I like those Wayne, and wouldn't mind paying the price. But, I wish they were slimmer (they run 1 1/4" to 1 1/2").

I know that seems anal to some, that's why I opened this topic by saying " sometimes it amazes me how hard I am to please".

I can't really explain it, but that unnecessary thickness in my vest pockets bothers me.

I guess it's like the new (more compact)cell phones...nobody wants the bigger clunky ones of 10 years ago hanging on them anymore.

Hey no need to apologize for being picky. Being picky/particular about gear is why I have about 15 fly rods and 10 reels when I really just "need" 2 or 3. For me it hasn't filtered down to the flyboxes yet but it may in time.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

I'm beginning to feel like my box just doesn't measure up and now feel pressured to purchase more...can this be considered "box envy"?

There are plenty of times I have had box envy..

Like the one morning I woke up when sleeping overnight in my truck at the South Platte in Colorado.. and there / in the same parking lot is A.K. Best, Ed Engle and John Gierach. Getting an impromptu sneek peek look into those guys boxes will make you understand real quick..

Nicely, or highly quality tied flies go in the right boxes. All dries go in boxes that can accomodate each group with room. Therefore, the Dewitt and Myran boxes hold all my dries from here on out.

The midges go in HIGH CONTENT boxes like mizzou mentioned.. the C&F boxes offer the more the merrier as far as content goes...
