Trav Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 With the heat turning on and the constant dumping of frigid water out of Table Rock Dam, the Lower Lake is consumed with fog. If you venture into the lower Taney in the evenings and early mornings expect to fish in the fog. I cant express enough that you cant run wide open in these situations. Not to mention you cant see debris and there are numerous other fisherman in the center of the lake. We dont need any accidents. Looking out my window as I type this, I cant even see 20 feet in front of my face. Granted, as the sun rises it will burn off but lets be careful out there. Members Champ Posted July 21, 2008 Members Posted July 21, 2008 Good reminder, Trav. Also, if you are going to be sitting out there fishing have your lights on, expecially around dark. Does anybody know who to contact about getting red marker lights put on bridge pilings. I know they have them at Lake of the Ozarks and Table Rock. Would be nice to have them on Taney.
CaptainJoe Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I was fishing today and I personally saw at least a half a dozen boats motoring through the fog without any lights on. Not only do they motor through the fog, they anchor right in the middle of the channel without lights. I have seen many rental boats with no lights. It is a big problem and someone is going to get killed. Captain Joe Hreha Owner of MO Fenchbulldogs.com; Captain Joe's Guide Service (Retired); OAF Contributor; & Captain, U. S. bigredbirdfan Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Trav, Haven't seen too many posts from you of late. Thought you might be lost in the fog yourself
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I thought maybe it was because he has a bright shiny new dock across the lake from him, makes his look older. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Trav Posted July 23, 2008 Author Posted July 23, 2008 I'm still lurking around. I have been burning the candle at both ends. My brother has me working on prototypes to a couple inventions we are working on. Throw in the fact I am right in the middle of a book that I am writing, staying up all , and sleeping mostly during the day. My creativity comes in waves. I am sure you guys will get sick of my opinions all over again, soon enough. Haha Let's not forget that my boat is not working, so I cant get out there and do my reports. But on the lighter side, I will be getting a replacement boat after the first of the month. So you will again be able to follow my tactics here on the Lower. Trav Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 I was advised not to disclose what I am working on. At least until we have patents. I have had patents on 20 or so "Ideas" before with no avail. I always seem to shoot for jupiter when the moon should be adequate enough. Haha "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
