A tough day for us. My partner caught a small mouth, then a kentucky. One on a drop shot and one on the Jewel jig. I caught a huge bluegill. The two fish (bass) we caught were in twenty-two feet of water or near there. We started the same place we caught them last week and moved out from there. There was very little wind and a great amount of HOT.

It seems that every Tuesday is a challenge for us, but Wednesday is better and Thursday is best yet. I think you have to fish almost every day and stay on them. If I didn't have to work it would be so much easier.

Techo, even fishing them everyday it is hard to keep these guys on track right now. One day there next day gone. But still shallow for me 14 - 20 feet, but only early in the AM from 5:30 to 7:30 then that bite slowes, then out to drop shot fishing which is where we should be right now all day? Hot weather has to push these guys back out to deep water, just a matter of time.. Well atleast I'm sure you had a fun morning on the water, I bet it beats chasing those bad guys around town...

I love fishing even on days like these. It has been a fantastic year. The spring and early summer fishing methods have really carried through this year. i typically struggle through the hot summer months and probably need another lesson from one of you pro guys.

Im taking a supervisor out tomorrow so hopefully I can get him on some fish like last week. It should be fun in any case.

One of these days, I've got to get down there and hire one of you guides. I love smallie fishing. Seems you guys at the Rock do pretty well. Also, I'm a diver and been awhile, since I dove the Rock. The diving is pretty good, for the midwest.

Wednesday AM...........

Instead of starting a new thread, thought I would just continue here.

We went out earlier this morning and ended up at the ramp just as the lightening seemed to let up. There was plenty of parking with only two other boats there. The lightening started up a few hours later and we decided better safe than sorry. There were two boats getting ready to put in as we were leaving. I think we sort of blocked one boat as we were buckling our stuff down. I thought they were waiting for the storm to clear. Sorry to whomever they were. We could have easily pulled up, but I didn't realize they were putting in until we were almost ready to leave.

My partner and I hooked some decent fish, but only actually boated two of them. Some of them managed to throw the hook at us at the boat. Some started to get reeled in and then escaped with the tails off of our grub. I need to use some sort of trailer or something on these Jewel jigs. A much better day than yesterday in mostly the same places. I still think you have to fish as much as you can to keep up with the bass. I am hoping tomorrow is extraordinary as I am taking the Mrs. I am a bit worried about next week because I can only fish one or two days next week.

Overall the jig was the way to go for us in about 18 feet of water.

My trailer lights were odd this AM. I had signal lights and braking lights, but no running lights. I am off to try to figure out the mystery of trailer lights.

See ya got into some fish this week. Awesome, just sitting at work wishing I was on the Lake.

Sounds like a loose wire.

Techo:

Had the same issue with my trailer, maybe not that brand matters, but my fuse in the truck was blowing out (20a mini). Talked to the top nothch mechanice and he said to search for a brown or red wire with a bare spot in it. So I did, laid on my back for an 30 minutes. Low and behold there it was, a huge bare spot, brand new boat and trailer! Wrapped some electical tape around it for a quick fix and no more fuse problems. That short or bare spot was near where the wire entered the metal tubing most of the wires run in for protection! Probably rubbed itself off. B)

GOod report! Later.

Techno If its not a bare wire you might check to see if the pigtail from the vehicle has power, some have a convertor box that is built to fail before the light system on the vehicle. a simple test light will work

To have a true friend is wonderful, to have a true friend who fishes with you....... priceless

Techo,

Awful weird--my trailer lights started doing the same things last week. Brake lights and turn signals all work but no running lights. I need to figure mine out as well.

you can save yourself ALOT of grief by just un-pluging the trailer lights B4 you back into the water{hot bulbs/cold water don'tmix]. running lights only might be as simple as that filament in the bulb is burned out.
