Members buckowens Posted July 31, 2008 Members Posted July 31, 2008 I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but i'm new..... Does anyone here coat the entire fly, such as a Harvester Midge, with cement to help it stay together? Would it help or just turn trout away? Thanks Buck
Danoinark Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Actually I use Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails, but yes I typically coat the entire thread midge. Makes them more durable and gives them a sheen also. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
trout fanatic Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Concur with Dano, almost all of my midge patterns (cept the floaters) get a healthy coating of SHHAN. Good stuff
Terry Beeson Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Same here.... But the reason I use it is so I can stand in the cosmetic aisle at WalMart and say somethin' like "'S'cuse me ma'am, but do you think this color would look good on my toenails?"
