vanven Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 With the water up, is fly fishing a viable option at all? I cant seem to visualize exactly how high the water gets at 7000-10000 cfs. Is that above the first step at outlet 2 or higher? Is the bank between outlet 2 and outlet 3 accessible? I have a couple days to burn later this week and I am not really interested in wearing out a spot at the outlets. If I can access a little bit of water it makes the choice between Taney and the water below Roaring River a much tougher decision. -Jerod

That is the first step and higher.
loo10 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 While my latest fishing report was while fishing from my boat, I can offer the following: a.) Many were fly-fishing from boats and seemed to be doing very well. b.) Outlet 1 was a circus. Maybe 12 or more beating that small area to a froth. Looked awful to me. c.) Outlet 2 had only one or two anglers on it most of the times I went past it. Leonard Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Jerod.. loo10 is right.. during the day outlet is worst the a circus.... But on the outter banks (between the outflow of 1 on uo toward the cable... is a hot spot... GOT TO GET IT DEEP... we are still catch a few smallies. still some walleyes.... and every now and then a Largemouth and now the kentuckies are starting to fire up... AND THEY ARE FAT!!! Also timing seems to be a big roll. Early evening and into the night seem to be the key time for the bass and eyes... http://www.taneycomonights.com
