Can someone suggest an anchor --wt. size, type, etc--, way to rig it for my boat. I have a 21 foot X 3 ft aluminum boat with a 9.5 horse motor. I fish the White River?

Any help suggestions appreciated

If you really want to do it you can take a coffee can put a piece of rebar in it and fill it full of concrete. Then use rope that is easy to cut to attach to boat. Also have a sharp knife handy for when not if it hangs up and pulls the boat under.

The classic White River anchor is a one foot section of Rail Road track with a short chain welded to it. Do not anchor in high water! That is what kills most anglers on the White River. It is the sixth most dangerous body of water in the United States.

I actually had the same question, but about Table Rock. I am not sure why, but I have never ever used an anchor. We were vertical spooning one day I thought about how much easier it would be to stay where I wanted to be in the wind with an anchor. Is it bad to have an anchor there too?

dont use a drag chain. they are dangerous, one snag and you could be in trouble.

They use them on the White River all the time and yes you want your butt in a seat at times, but other than that not a problem. They use flexible braided rope with a bungee rubber attachment with lots of give. Only about 12-24 inches of actual chain.

Are there restrictions on them on Taneycomo?
