Members Gary Dean Posted August 12, 2008 Members Posted August 12, 2008 Just signed up on the site a few days ago, finding a wealth of information, had not fished for trout in over 15-20 years (and that was from a dock) until last month. Me and the son-in-law took pontoon down to Taneycomo for a day and had a blast. Planning on taking my son & son-in-law down to fish this Friday & Saturday (15th & 16th). Me & better half are huge "PITT STATE GORILLA FOOTBALL" fans and live about 20 miles west of Pittsburg, KS, so after this trip won't likely be able to go back until early next year, which appears to be extremely good time to go. Will fishing drop off on Saturday with the drawdown in the lake, or is that still on? Later, papamcgown (Gary)
zsmith62 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Welcome, this site will definetly increase your fishing IQ infinetly... As for the lake drawdown, I don't neccesarily know how the fishing will be, but I'd say the increased fishing room will make things more bareable. After things settle down after the initial drop, I'd imagine that things will be pretty darn good. (I assume you'll be fishing the upper lake.) Zach Smith
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 13, 2008 Root Admin Posted August 13, 2008 Welcome. I know of several other Pitt State people on this board. I grew up in Parsons and have alot of friends who attended there.

Members Gary Dean Posted August 13, 2008 Author Members Posted August 13, 2008 We will likely fish from Fall Creek area down to Landing area depending on flow, depth and how it goes, that is the area we fished last month. papamcgown (Gary)
zsmith62 Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I'm not very familiar with that particular section since i don't have a boat, but I doubt that the drop will effect that section to where boating will be too difficult. While you're on taney, I'd reccomend checking out the dam section, with the water being down, the wade fishing could turn out to be a lot of fun Zach Smith
