Members Woodchuck Posted August 16, 2008 Members Posted August 16, 2008 Has anyone used crayfish flies in the local rivers and streams?
jdmidwest Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Yes I have, several different patterns. Crayfish are a major food source for a lot of fish. Woolybuggers resemble crayfish, there are other crayfish patterns also. Alot of patterns are tyed for fisherman, not for fish. Keying into the color pattern and shape work well. Realistic flies are overkill. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
