LostMyWife
Robbie and I are looking for a motor for our Gizzly. It is rated for 25HP max. But, I have to be able to easily remove it as many fo the places we fish, including our own little fishing lake, do not allow gas engines on the water, running or otherwise. So, how big, what model, 4 stroke or 2 stroke. New or used. What do you think? How much am I looking at? Yes, I'm That Guy
Members JRay
Four strokes are great but heavy if you want to take off and on. My 6hp Yamaha four stroke weighs 80+ pounds and my 25hp Yamaha four stroke weighs 150+ pounds. Great motors and very easy on fuel.
LostMyWife
Can they handle the current on Taney, especially during generation Yes, I'm That Guy
Members JRay
I think I read that you have a 1648 or 1652 Grizzly. I am running a 1548 G3 with a 25 hp Yamaha 4 stroke and in my opinion you will at least need that size of a motor to run around much and get up the current on Taneycomo. A two stroke motor will be lighter and seem to have a little more zip.
