[Roaring River Veteran]

Hello all, I am in the process of looking at some new toys and I am curious if anyone is using them and what they can tell me about them.

First off I am looking at a new tying vice. I am think a Renzetti Traveler. I am currently using a orvis pedistal vice and I really like the pedistal, but I would like to have a rotary vice, and I would like to upgrade from the orvis.

I am also planning to start building a couple of flyrods and I am going to need a new reel or two. Has anyone used the orvis Mid-arbor or the Pfluger Trion?

any help would be appriciated.

RRV, I have the Pfluger Trion and I love it. It's my favorite of all my reels and I usually find myself going back to it when I'm using another. The price is good and it holds up well. I've fished with for three seasons now and it's still as good as new.

RRV; I do not have the mid-arbor, but I do have the Orvis 2WT wide arbor, and am very happy with it. I already had two standard Battenkill reels, and wanted a third before they move production to China. Check out the deals at www.orvis.com. They have decent prices [better than BPS] and they will load it with backing and their new Wonderline free.

Thanks guys, I have also considered the bar stock battenkill. does anyone have experience with those? I have a couple of the old cast battenkills and one large arbor, and like them but wondering about the others.

I use a Renzetti Traveler and love it. I don't have much experience with other high quality vises, but I would highly recommend a Renzetti to anyone.

I have a Barstock III in Titanium and one in Black. They are as good as the originals just lighter.I've been thinkin of selling the Black one and the rod it's on which is a 6'6" St.Croix Avid 4wt. 3pc.I've never used the set up.Bought it, registered the rod and decided I didn't want to go smaller than my 5wt.Oh, it's got a new WF Orvis Silver label line on it.I'll be in Nixa, Mo. this week if you want to look at it.Downside is I'm leaving in the morning.Hope you see this. $225.00

sorry didn't see your post until this morning. I was busy working around the house all weekend. trying to get a yard to grow and brush burned. I didn't even get a chance to fish this weekend.
