ollie Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Thought since the summer is almost over I thought I would put a bug in everyone's ear. Last year I tried to set-up a little friendly competition for fishing Capps. Sort of a one fly (jig) competition for bragging rights down on Capps. Buzz took honors last year ( only cause I had to re-tie all the time an he knows it!!! ). We even brought brats and beans, but no one else showed up. Too bad because we caught and released over 30 each just in the morning before 1:00. Let me hear some feed back from anyone who wants to come this year. I'm trying to make this an annual event. I might even try to set something up for Hickory as well later on in the year. Chief Grey Bear Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hey I showed up. But was at the wrong spot. I thought we were to show up at the mill and after waiting 30 minutes, went down to the other access. Not knowing which way you guys went, I hit some holes on Shoal Creek. Plus you guy's didn't say anyting about brat's and beans! I'll keep it marked down as see what I can do. Sounds like fun. ollie Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 Well, we met down at the mill, but must have missed you. The brats and beans are a given for this event don't ya know! Think about it Chief this year. I know I can't really break away too much during the holiday season because of my job and I think Buzz only can fish on Sunday also. Just seems like a good time to go. Buzz Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I'm in. Last year Ollie and I had so many doubles that I lost count. This year we'll have to make sure and get everyone together before we take off. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
drew03cmc Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 This might be fun...I will see if I can escape. Andy
ollie Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Just wanted to bump this back up. Getting closer to Thanksgiving all the time. Come on everyone and come on down. So far we only have 4 people interested in the idea. Let's get more people!! ollie Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Ok, so no one else wants in on this? It looks like defending champ Buzz will defend his honor against the Chief and me. If no one else decides to go I might want to fore go the lunch and just fish. If more decide to go we should really plan on something I guess. Members tgard27 Posted November 25, 2008 Members Posted November 25, 2008 Hey guys, I want to get down there badly, BUT I work weekends at a golf shop. I am crossing my fingers for bad weather in KC on Saturday so that maybe I won't have work on Sunday. If i can, I will be down there but if i can't I will post on saturday night. Travis
Chief Grey Bear Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 You just tell them that you have an accute case of salmoniditis and you must retreat to the Ozarks for healing. Besides, golf is just another one of the many sports they had to come up with for men that can't fish.
