brittsnbirds Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 PC- I think you will know the pattern. Just like earlier in the season, remember when the water was in the parking lots I've had enough of the high water stuff down there. I will hold out until some things settle down. Waste of gas for me pulling my pop up down. Pat
NoLuck Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Hey Guys, I was going to go down Sunday the 14th but, I think I'll pass. This water deal has been crazy this year. We defintalely needed the rain though. The aquafirs should be pretty full now. The way its going you should have a pretty good flow into the winter months this year. I can't wait till Nov. 14th. Rich
brittsnbirds Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Where you been NoLuck? Thought you took off for Montana with the job thing? I'm hoping to get down this month sometime. Dixie is having withdrawls. I've got a pretty heavy schedule this month with football games, homecoming and my off--duty gig (got to make money to spend money). Unlike you! Like you said, the ground water is probably full like it was this summer. Any little bit of moisture will increase the flow. I can handle a little high water but the increase in flow and dingy water bums me out. However I guess we can resort to gut fishin! If I do go I will let you and PC know, usually have a bunk end available in the PopUp. It's not the nicest unit but it's dry, comfortable and the beer is alsways cold. Pat
Paola Cat Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Doesn't look like the water's coming up .... the gauge height is 2.2. Pat/Rich .... I hear ya on 11/14. It can't get here fast enough. I'll make the decision later tonight on whether I head down tomorrow or not .... we'll see how it goes. I've got to head to India for work on Thursday. Doing the around the world thing and will be out of commission for a couple of weeks. PC Mike Cheers. PC
NoLuck Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Hey Pat, PC, I've been around here pretty much. They have been sending me here and there but, not anywhere too far. I was hoping they get that job in Washington at the Grand Coulee Dam. I also could have been in New Hampshire. I've been at a local V.A. hospital for the last couple weeks. I spent a ton of money on my new bow this year. So I've been getting busy getting it lined out for bow season. The rifle season starts on the 15th of November so I'll be at Bennett for sure on the opener of winter season. Thanks for the offer on a camper bed. I gotta work Sunday anyway. Its double time, so I cant pass up the extra money. My job tends to get a little slow in the winter so I take all the overtime I can get. I'll let you guys know when I head that way. Hope to see you guys there soon. Rich
Members rollcaster Posted September 14, 2008 Members Posted September 14, 2008 Just checked the USGS chart for Bennett. Unless there's been a gage malfunction it appears that a major flood is underway.
DoveTail Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 A low pressure system given the name "Ike" put about 4-5" of rain all over the state. No guage malfunction. Water will be up!
Paola Cat Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Decided against going late Saturday night. I just looked at the pictures on Weaver's ... I think it was a good decision. It's blown out again. PC Cheers. PC
rcguy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Oh Boy, more high water! Maybe we can all get together for lunch on Nov.14th. Sounds like a god time to head down to me!!
flyfishmaster Posted September 15, 2008 Author Posted September 15, 2008 Well it appear a wall of chocolate water has been dumped on my parade.... Yet Again. Son of a Mean Lady.. I guess I will be watching the gages for the rest of the week. If BSSP does shape up, I might have to start looking at Montauk/Current because it seems to be dropping a lot faster. Later, FFM Woo Hoo Fish On!!
