Members Doc Dave
I have a trip planned for 12th through the 13th and am staying at Riverside on the Spring River. Usually use Olive Wooly, but would like any suggestions on flies and new locations. I did see that if I walk down the tracks by Dam 3 I could come to a small island. Don't mind a short walk but need to know what might work there. I really like small stuff, like midges. Any Help? Erin Go Bragh

Members Doc Dave
Good Day Billy - I thought I would try this site, it seems to provide tons of info. I am tying some flies for next week and was looking for some info on what flies I will be needing. Erin Go Bragh
Members Yakfly
Both sides of that island have some riffle water - if you want to fish small I'd start with some soft hackles there, partridge & orange/red/green/yellow. Nymphing I would try zebra midge, black/copper & red/silver. But my bet is that an olive wooley will outcatch anything else on that river. Good Luck. Please give a report when you get back! Members Doc Dave
Hard 2 1/2 days on the Spring River. This past weekend had to rank right up there as one of the hardest fishing trips in a long time. Fishing was SLOW. I think Billy and I threw everything but our sleeping bags at the fish! The water was very off colored, milky to choose a word. Got in the river about 4:00 pm Friday and right away caught and released three small bows. Then from then untilt dark NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH. Saturday was not any better, I guess between the milky water and the storm, it should have been expected. But hey, a few days on the water is Great Erin Go Bragh
