Members troutfitter77 Posted September 8, 2008 Members Posted September 8, 2008 Anyone know what the water down at Parker's and Baptist looks like this week. I was thinking about heading down and fishing but we've had a bunch of rain in Kansas City this week and I didnt pay attaention to see if or how much rain they had down on the Current. Any local info would be much appreciated as it could save me a 5 hour drive.
Gene K Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Had a bit of color to it yesterday. Level wasn't all that high - didn't check the gauge but it looked only slightly above what it has been the past few weeks. BTW, most rain gauges around me showed a bit over 5 inches for the week. No reason at all to stay home!

No reason at all to stay home! Holy Shnikes! 5 Inches of rain for the week down there! I just got a new pair of Kayaks and I am itchin to use them before I start a new job next week, but I was hoping for a lttle more low and slow h20 down there so I could ease into the kayak game. Maybe have to bring one down and size up the walk wade vs float. Thanks for the info!!!
Gavin Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site..._cd=00065,00060 Youll be fine...looks like it came up around a foot and its headed back down...its at 1.9 at Akers right know, which is a great float level. Not to high, and not so low that youll be dragging. Have a great trip.

It is just about perfect for kayaking between Baptist and Parker right now. In fact, it could stand to be a bit higher. The level most of the summer has been 1.25 or better (Montauk gauge), and the rain last week bumped it back up to where it is at 1.25 at the moment.
