Adjusting Motorguide Foot Pedal

Any of you guys know how to adjust the foot pedal on a MotorGuide Tour 82? Had the lower unit replaced on mine last week and apparently the tech didn't get the new foot put on in the same position as the old one. I'd like the pedal to be flat when I'm moving straight ahead as it used to be but right now my foot is cocked heel-back and it's killin my lower back. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well , If memory serves me right you have to remove the screws underneath the head unit. Remove the top cover housing from the head unit. think there are two gears or cogs in there . You need to put your motor down if you can while it's on the trailer. Next remove gently one of those little gears. I think the small one is the one. Just slide it up enough to clear the other gear. You should be able to turn the armature (foot) so that the prop is in the rear, like it would be if you were going straight forward. Next you should be able to move the footpedal to the position you want. In this case I usually position it like you described I think, half way forward and half way back so that it's in the middle or flat. Does that make any sense? Carfully slip the small gear back in place and that should fix it. Remember to set your directional arrow indicator properly before you set the housing for the head unit back in place. I hope I'm giving you good info.

I may be wrong, but with the trolling motor in the down position, loosen the knob that would adjust your vertical height for the motor. Now grab the head of the motor and turn it until your foot pedal is level. Retighten the knob and you should be ready to go.
