I wouldn't think so esp with the warm weather and rain we are supposed to have this week. Keep an eye on reports this week.

There are a few WB showing up in the shallow upper reaches of the lake On Kings River, mostly dinks with an occasional sow. More are being caught back downlake a few miles by trollers. The guys trying for them way up the lake and toward the river aren't finding many so I do not think any major movement toward the river has started here yet, and it usually happens on Kings same time as the James. I think it will pick up any day now especially with a little bit of water coming down the rivers from the past and forcast rain.

I'm Just a big fan of the James down on that end. I thought that it looked like the patterns were shaping up right. I may look at the Kings side too, another of my favorites! Thanks for the info guys!

I went down to Galena today with the wife and new baby I did not do any fishing but did alot of looking. I went down to Ashtercain bottoms and its shallow. We then went to McCords Bend the water looks like it is on the rise from the recent rains however the water is only about 2.5-3.0' deep south of the boat ramp it is only about 10' wide. We then went up to talk to Gary Benham but he and his wife was not home so we went on down to Blunks down by the boat ramp it looked like there was enough water however I did not waid out 3-8' deep. As we worked up the river down from Gary's house it got very shallow. I really think that the white bass will come up but how far is the question. I think that Ashtercain will be the hot spot this year. Who knows only time will tell, with the rains that are falling here this past week it might make a huge diffrence and make it a great year. Good luck to the snaggers and I hope you get a huge Spoonbill.

A bunch of us are going to take a road trip tonight to the James and check out our normal white bass spring wading haunts. I imagine our normal hot spots won't be much more than a creek stream. I checked out the Roaring River arm Monday night on the lake. You couldn't float a canoe in the stream where the lake used to be with the current level of 904.

Me and a buddy fished Blunks from the boat ramp downstream to almost McCords and scratched out starting out a dawn yesterday. The only activity we saw were a bunch of silver sides. We were hoping to get a least a smallie ot two, but it didn't happen.

By the way, we caught some of those silver sides on a Tim's Silver Side fly available at Tims Fly Shop at Roaring River [Tim paid me to say that]. No doubt that the whites will hit that fly with the same vigor.
