Mark Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 It simply amazes me that some people don't believe there is such a thing a global warming or that mankind and pollution have anything to do with it. We are going to leave this planet in a mess, and unless we change our ways of thinking soon, it will continue getting worse. History will look back upon us with distain and anger for ruining a beautiful planet.
bigredbirdfan Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 It is not that we don't believe in GW. The amount of warming as Sparkleminnow has pointed out is minimal and has yet to be proven that it is manmade. Face it lots has been done on pollution. Factories use to dump directly into streams and they do not under most circumstances. We all hate they did and don't want to ruin our streams and lakes. However what policies toward GW lead to are: extra taxes on things like driving restrictions on amounts of electricity (I happen to like my Air Conditioning I don't know about you) restrictions on lifestyle choices like meat and dairy It is real easy to say I want to do something about it like riding the bus or your bike. What policy makers really want is massive changes in our freedoms and if you don't believe that then drink Kool Aide and vote Obama.
Mark Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I wasn't aware that Obama came out in support of worldwide pollution!! HA I believe it was the Bush regime that has allowed our jobs to be shipped overseas to India and China, which is now the #1 polluter in the world, and both countries have no regulations on industry polluting our environment. So continue burying your head in the sand and thinking everything is great and vote McCain.

Would you care to give us your thoughts on the rest of my points?
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Yeah, please explain your babbling about "restrictions on lifestyle choices like meat and dairy". And please provide your source that Obama is trying to restrict it. I haven't seen this bill in the house or senate. After that, we shall move to the electric restrictions. bigredbirdfan Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I don't refer to your posts as babbling so please do not refer to mine as such. All of my points are what policy makers of GW would like to restrict. How else would they curb carbon output? You will really be yucking it up when you only get so much beef per year and get to drink soy milk. Oh yes Mr. Global Warming methane happens to be a source of warming too.
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I don't babble. Where are your "policy makers of GW" sources? If I grow my own beef, which should only be about, maybe 2 and a hog thrown in, I don't think much will be said. Now as for resturants.....that is a cow of a different color. Chief Grey Bear Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I second thought,I really like bacon and bbq ribs and ham sammiches and pulled pork and bbqed pork steak and pork chops and......we better make that a couple or 5 hogs. bigredbirdfan Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 How do you control the cow farts without placing a consumption restriction on beef and pork? And don't forget the fossil fuels that go into hay production and grain production. You think because you raise your own you will be immune. Wait until you get a tax on each of them above the "normal consumption rate." They have the ability to check your hollar by google earth for the number you own. Less you forget. Believe it or not corporations (which everyone seems to like now that their retirement plans are dependent upon them) can't alone curb all the greenhouse gas emissions the GW crowd aims to control.
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I haven't seen your sources yet?????????? You may want to start limiting you time on the computer since you claim we are going to have electric restrictions. I am still waiting to read your source for that too.
