drew03cmc Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Take the reel to almost any Orvis shop and they will swap your reel, then they will send the reel back to Orvis themselves. Andy
ness Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 That's one of the good things about Orvis. They stand behind their stuff, and treat you good when you have an issue. That's what you get for their premium pricing. I dropped a Battenkill and broke off the knob several years back. I took it into a local shop, explained what happened, and they gave me a new spool. drew03cmc Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Orvis' reel pricing isn't bad, but their rods are awfully high priced. Andy
Thom Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I had the connection between the spool and the drag system on my reel break for no apparent reason last weekend while fishing Taney. Was wondering if this had ever happend to anyone else? I know Orvis is known for making a good product and they will fix it ( as long as I pay the shipping), but it seems to me that a reel I have had less than a year and only used a dozen or so times should not break. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Most I have talked to have never heard of that happening to a reel. Kyle I had the exact same thing happen to my reel last year. A screw apparently fell out. I took it to River Run at Taney and they swappee the part from another reel for me ane charged me $10 to fix it. I thought they were waranteed but I was more interested in getting back to the stream than argueing. Just glad to get it fixed. Thom Harvengt
